Hi Nancy,

We previously spoke about individuals losing their benefits in January 2010. NELP is looking for people to tell their stories so Congress knows how important it is to reauthorize the Recovery Act as soon as possible. If you know ...

I’ve (unfortunately) had time to watch and read a lot of reporting on this and went to a town hall meeting on the pending Health Care initiatives this past Tuesday.

This seems to be an awfully emotionally charged issue for some people. I hope we can take a factual unemotional approach to this.

Late Payments?

I usually can see that a "check was issued" by Wednesday (today) when I claim on Monday (which I did). I don't see that as of 2 p.m. and I was wondering if anyone here knew if they will be late on payments this week because of MLK day? Thanks. I tried to get through to AWI but the "lines are busy"... "call back later".

Mortgage refinancing

Is anyone having success with mortgage refinancing? We have been sending in monthly paperwork and calling since March 2009 with no offers from a negotiator. When we call "the number" we are told over and over "our paperwork is being reviewed and a negotiator will call us". Nothing ever happens. We cannot call and speak to a negotiator. Remember the episode in SATC when Big said she can call me but i can't reach her? This is it! Any suggestions?

For those over 50:

I've posted info about this before, but Cindermaid on the OC forum posted this link today for a website that gives a bit more about programs for those over 50.
